How to Buy a Business

Okay, let’s take a look at the course itself. This is a serious course for serious people.

How is the Course Delivered?

The course consists of twelve learning modules covering the topics listed on previous pages. The modules are made available every Friday evening for weekend study. These modules vary in length from 30 to 145 pages with the average length being 55 pages. In addition, each module contains links to additional reading and, in some cases, videos.

Course materials: two third party books serve as the course’s textbooks. The course then fills in the details and provides actionable items on a weekly basis to ensure that participants start making progress immediately. Budget another $30 for these.

Ideal candidates: 1) entrepreneurs with proven track records, 2) individuals with C-level experience, 3) and fast learners with a burning desire to succeed big in business.

Duration: three months. You should be able to allocate a minimum of two to four hours per week to this project. Obviously, the more time you put into it the better for you. There will be assigned reading from books not included in the course fee.

What this course is not: it’s not about being a passive investor of any kind, real estate investing, or any get-rich-quick MLM type scheme. In addition, it’s not:

-a course on quantitative analysis

-a tax course

-a course on how to build just one company through perpetual sales growth.

To succeed in this field you will eventually have a team of experts such as an accountant and securities lawyer. My objective is to make you the quarterback who leads and calls the plays, not a narrow specialist.

Don’t Make This Mistake

What I have discovered over the years is that the number one reason people shy away from this growth strategy is a mistaken belief that they need to be “number-crunchers” to succeed. The reality is that people who do well with it understand the basic rules for creating value and leave the number crunching to a team member who specializes in that area. As stated earlier, it’s more about developing good horse-trading sense than anything else.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

The course is designed for the entrepreneur who already has a business that he or she wants to grow rapidly. Having an existing business is a huge advantage for anyone enrolling.

If you don’t have a business yet, it’s going to take longer. A number of the modules in the first half cover strategies and tactics for accelerated growth.

Here’s what you need to succeed:

A willingness to follow a step-by-step plan for getting into the business of buying small businesses at first. (The businesses you buy will increase in size as your empire grows and you can afford bigger deals.)

A clean credit history as some borrowing will be required. It’s better if you have an operating business to do the borrowing for you.

A willingness to implement what you learn.

The course focuses on the early stages of the grand billionaire strategy. This is the most helpful area for anyone wanting to learn these strategies because we explore what today’s billionaires did when they were in your shoes. In other words, there’s plenty to learn from how they got started.

Think of the course as providing you with a cookie-cutter system for acquiring cashflows and stacking them into as high a pile as you can make before the clock runs out. How high that pile gets is up to you and Lady Luck. She always has some influence over your results. I have studied billionaires for forty years and will tell you that some of these guys were just phenomenally lucky. They are the equivalent of someone rolling the dice twenty times in a row and winning every time.

However, the fact remains that no matter how much luck you have or don’t have, you will still be far better off in the end if you use these strategies than if you don’t.

Do you wish to continue? Yes. / No.
