How to Buy a Business

Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve. – J. K. Rowling
As I mentioned earlier everything in life is a pyramid, including your industry. Think of it this way. At the base you have countless small businesses. Above them you have what are referred to as the “low middle market” companies. On the next level you have the “upper middle market” companies. Finally, at the apex you find the Fortune 1000 and Global 1000 corporations.

In the course we spend most of our time studying the early days of self-made billionaires and tycoons. What separates them from most people is that they simply had the guts to take it one step at a time. In contrast the vast majority of people will take themselves out of the game before even trying the first step.

If you can start off right, its not that hard to make the adjustments called for to enter the lower middle market. The course reveals how to build the critical mass in the bottom level of the pyramid to make it into the next level. After that, you will have the knowledge to proceed up even further if you so choose.

Time For a Dose of Reality

Not a month goes by when someone doesn’t ask if the course promises to make one a billionaire. I hope that you are smart enough to understand the difference between learning from the best of the best and applying those lessons in your own business versus expecting a course to make you a billionaire. No one can make that type of promise. My policy is to steer these types of inquirers away from the course.

So, lets be crystal clear. This is about learning advanced strategies and tactics from the champions of business and applying them to your business to see how far you can get. In most cases, if you apply just 5% of what you learn from them you will be a lot further ahead than you might have otherwise.

How to Get Taken Seriously

From ten years as a business broker I have come to suspect that many business people avoid getting involved wheeling & dealing in businesses because they don’t want to look like they don’t know what they’re doing. This fear is justified because up until now there’s been no one to teach you these lessons.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the course teaches you how to bulk up to the size where you are taken seriously by the other players such as lenders, investment banks, and Fortune 1000 companies and accorded respect by them.

This is the main focus of the course.

Think of it this way.To play the billionaire business building game you first need to train for four to six years in the minor leagues polishing up your deal-making, capital-raising, acquisition, and divestiture skills. Then you will naturally step up to the major leagues–if you choose to do so. By then it will be as easy as falling off a log because you will have the necessary skills, team, financial size, and most importantly the confidence to make the transition.

The strategies and tactics you will learn for wealth accumulation in the training stage will be the same ones you use later on.The difference between the stages is mostly one of the size of deals.

This course guides you successfully through the first two stages. By the time you have completed the second stage you will have the size, confidence, and momentum to be catapulted into stage 3–if you choose to go that far.

This quote sums up the course’s philosophy quite nicely. People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves, they have the first secret of success.

Your Booster Rocket Into the Game

The best way to describe this course is as a booster rocket to lift you into this lucrative game. While the preceding strategies will sound intimidating to some, the course is designed to distill the key lessons for you to follow and apply. It will show you in detail how to progress through the three stages of growth necessary to maximize the probability of achieving your goal.

I’m a firm believer in teaching people how to walk before they try running. This course starts off with the “baby steps” you need to take early on to build up both your knowledge and confidence.

After that success will come through application of the basic formula cookie-cutter style. It’s really just a numbers game. Luck doesn’t have very much to do with it. The people who believe that they can build another Microsoft or Google are the ones who need to pray for luck.
